How to download YouTube videos
- Copy the video link. On YouTube, use Share then Copy link, or copy the address bar. Shorts and live URLs work in the same field.
- Paste it above. Drop the link into the input. Downlify detects that it is YouTube and looks up the available formats.
- Choose video or audio. Pick a resolution and MP4, or switch to audio and choose MP3 or another codec, then download.
Formats, quality and audio
- Video downloads are MP4 by default, with WebM and MKV available when streams have to be merged. Resolutions run from 144p to 2160p where the source provides them.
- Audio is extracted at 192 kbps as MP3, with AAC, M4A, Opus and WAV also available. If a video has no audio-only stream, Downlify reports that instead of returning a silent file.

Are all YouTube links supported?
Standard watch links, youtu.be short links, Shorts and live URLs are recognised. Private, members-only and age-restricted videos may fail because they need a signed-in session.
Why do some YouTube downloads fail?
YouTube changes its player and rate-limits requests often, so a link that fails can succeed on a retry later. Downlify spaces out its requests and reports a plain-language reason instead of hanging.
Can I choose the resolution?
Yes. Pick a target height from the quality menu, or choose the best option and let Downlify take the highest stream the video offers.
Can I get just the audio as MP3?
Choose an audio format. The audio stream is extracted and encoded at 192 kbps; MP3, AAC, M4A, Opus and WAV are available.
Do Shorts and live replays work?
Yes, both are detected from their URLs. Finished live streams behave like normal videos; an active stream may only offer what is currently published.
Is there a daily limit?
Anonymous downloads have a small daily cap. A free account lifts it; batch mode lets you queue several links at once either way.
